Stephen Edwin King was born in Portland, Maine on Sept 21, 1947 as the son of Donald King and Nellie Ruth Pillsbury. Having written over 40 books, including a 7 part series of novels, a 6 part serial novel, and numerous short stories, he is amongst the worlds most popular all time writers, and is undoubtedly the worlds leading horror writer.
