A bunch of disgusting characters become rat-chow and only the audience wins in the end. An adequate giant-rat movie: take that as you will. It takes the King short story as far as it can go, and that's about all it manages to do. A 6 part miniseries, that was re-released as a single book. The links to the side are for the single book, as the individual chapters are no longer available.
Another "Short Story" collection of King's work, but this time all the stories follow in a series from 1960 to 1999, although each stands alone. They all have a common underlying theme - Vietnam, and they follow the same series of people throughout their life, from children, through vietnam to adulthood.
You'll lose a lot of sleep. Ralph does. At first he finds it hard to drop off. Then he starts waking up earlier. And earlier. But that isn't when he starts seeing things. A story of Pennywise the clown, who is ageless evil, trying to kill children in the town of Derry, and the fight back from a group that call themselves the "Losers". Starting in the fall of 1957, the fight between the Losers and Pennywise is thought to Kill him, but he is back in 1985, and really upset with the losers! A rather unusual tale told by L.T. Luckily an off duty pilot was aboard, but landing in an empty world in Bangor, makes them wish they hadn't. The Langoliers are waiting for them you see.... The credit was removed following a lawsuit on Kings part. There is no connection to the book other than the title. How King sold the rights to his so-so short story about a murderous satyr who mows lawns to the producers, and how they turned it into this unrelated tribute to cyberspace/virtual reality, is probably a story in itself worthy of a movie. Another evil is lurking there as well - The truth. Junction City, Iowa may seem like an unlikely place for evil to be hiding.
