Apt Pupil

Description

Todd Bowden starts life as an innocent boy, but he discovers that his neighbour Arthur Denker is really Kurt Dussander a wanted war criminal. Todd blackmails Dussander, but not for money - for stories of the horrific things that happened during the war. Starting with animals, together they start a new wave of killing, but that only lasts a short time, and they progress to killing homeless people.

The school counsellor discovers Todd's secret life and threatens to expose his actions, but is murdered by Todd before he can. Finally cracking, Todd takes his gun and starts randomly shooting near the expressway, before being shot five hours later.

The Body

Description

Four young boys go on a two day search for the dead body of a boy their age who was hit by a train outside Castle Rock in 1960. Gordie Lachance, who grew to become a successful author in later years, tells the group two of his stories - "Stud City" and "The Revenge of Lardass Hogan".

The boys talk about their dreams and fears, and even face the possibility of their own death along the way, but end up finding more than they ever dreamed of. The find the body, but also meet up with Billy, the older brother of Vern Tessio, as well as his friend Ace Merrill. The Breathing Method

Description

tale told one Christmas in a private New York club about a young pregnant woman determined to deliver her baby, no matter what happens. The exclusive club at 249 East 35th, does not even have a name, yet is the home of many strange but true stories.

Dr Emlyn McCarron tells about Sandra Stansfield who paid for his help in delivering her baby. She was introduced to the Breathing Method to help control the pain and help her concentrate on the birth. Sarah was beheaded in a terrible accident outside the hospital as she was arriving to deliver the baby. Her headless body continued to perform the Breathing Method up until the baby was born, and then she died.
