Green Mile, The Picture

Description

John Coffey, a large black man is sentenced to death for the killing of 2 little girls. A quiet and slightly slow man, he spends time sitting and crying, while other prisoners like Delacroix spend time with other interests such as his pet mouse.

The story revolves around both life on the Green Mile, as well as Coffey's as seen by Paul Edgecombe. Written from his retirement home, he remembers with vivid detail what life was like on the Mile, and shares his sadness at having to put criminals to death, and working with Percy Wetmore, a gutless and incompetent guard.
