Description
Ben Mears returned to 'Jerusalem's Lot - a small New England town complete with white clapboard houses, tree-lined streets, and solid church steeples - hoping to write a novel, a novel that just might put to rest what had happened to him in the old Marsten House when he was a boy.Unfortunately for Ben (and most of the town, for that matter), a nasty, blood-sucking vampire has arrived in the Lot, and taken up residence in the old Marsten House.
In 2005, an "Illustrated" edition of Salems Lot was released. It contains some illustrations and photographs, as well as previously unpublished material that was cut from the original book. Alas the material is just placed at the end of the book, rather than a printing of the book as King originally wrote it (Like the Uncut Stand release). The short stories One for the road, and Jerusalem's Lot are also included in the book. Sections from deleted scenes that contain new characters, or different named characters are listed in [brackets]
Originally titled "Second Coming", but Tabitha King thought it sounded like a sex manual. It was then retitled in "Jerusalem's Lot", but the Doubleday brass said it sounded too religious, so it was shortened to the final name of "Salem's Lot"
