Shining, The Picture

Description

A family finds the true meaning of horror while working as winter caretakers at the Overlook Hotel. 40 miles West of the closest town of Sidewinder, and stranded over winter, strange things can happen in any hotel, but this one's haunted!

Danny has The Shine, an uncanny ability to sense what others are thinking, and to talk with others with The Shine over great distances. There is also another great force at The Overlook - the hotel itself, and it will do anything to get Danny to join the realm of dead that haunt the halls and 110 rooms of this once majestic hotel.

Unable to influence Danny directly, the Overlook slowly takes over his father, turning him from a loving father (with a problem with alcohol), to a deranged killing machine, intent on punishing Danny... by killing him!

Initially The Shining was over 500 pages long, but it was cut in order to keep the price of the book below $10. I would like to see a reprint of the book in it's original form, including the Prologue and Epilogue. It has been done with The Stand, so why not The Shining?
